- ISSS-8 is almost here. If you have not registered for yourself or your guest(s) yet, please do so. We need to know the total number of participants.  Also, if you have not paid the registration fees for yourself or your guest(s) please do so as soon as possible. Payment for on-site registration will be by CASH ONLY.

- There will be 2 poster sessions during the course of the ISSS-8 meeting (see program schedule). Poster boards are 4-feet high (121 cm) by 8-feet wide (243 cm).

- Please note that the schedule for ISSS-8 has now been posted on the website.

- If you have not made your hotel reservation yet, please do so as soon as possible. The blocked rooms at the Aloha Hotel are sold out, but there is still availability at the Kauai Hilton. Please note, however, that after January 25 we can no longer guarantee the ISSS-8 special rates at the Hilton.

The number of hotel rooms available at the ISSS-8 discounted rates is getting low.

- If you already faxed your confirmation, please verify that you have received a confirmation number. It should have been sent to you within a week of your reservation. If you have not received your confirmation, please call the hotel as soon as possible [Hilton Kauai Beach Resort: (888) 805-3843; Aloha Beach Resort Hotel (888) 823-5111] to secure your room.

- If you have not reserved a hotel room yet, please do it as soon as possible. The number of rooms assigned to ISSS-8 is decreasing with time. Once we run out of rooms from the ISSS-8 block, room rates will depend on availability. Current regular rates at the Hilton are between $249 and $339 a night. The ISSS-8 rate negotiated before the remodeling and the new branding of the Hotel is $158 for the run of the house and $178 for a guarantee pool or ocean view. Please go to the ISSS-8 web site at http://www.isss8.ucla.edu/ to get a reservation form or call the hotels and reserve today.

Announcement for the Eighth International School for Space Simulations: ISSS-8
February 25 - March 3, 2007, Kauai, Hawaii

The 8th International School for Space Simulations (ISSS-8) is under
active preparation and will be held in Kauai, Hawaii during the week of
February 25 - March 3, 2007. The goal of this meeting is to bring
together recent developments and scientific results on space plasma
observations and simulations in order to teach the next generation of
undergraduate and graduate students both the basics and more sophisticated
simulation techniques with application to understanding satellite data and
space plasma physics processes in general.

A limited amount of funding for students to attend ISSS-8 is available.

abstract submission, hotel information and student travel applications
